Mojdeh butchers Philippine junior national swim record at Palaro opening

Philippines’ junior swim sensation Micaela Jasmine Mojdeh butchered the 200m Butterfly Girls 13-14 Junior Philippine National record en route to a golden finish at the opening day of the Palarong Pambansa 2019 held in UP Mindanao Sports Complex, Davao City, Tuesday afternoon.

Twelve year-old Mojdeh, who is yet to turn 13 later this year, clocked a new 200m Fly junior national record time of 2:22.69, erasing the 2:26.13 record of Regina Maria Paz Castrillo clocked in 2013.

2019 PSI Grand Prix NCR Leg 1 Results now added in PH Rankings

Full results of the 2019 PSI LC Grand Prix – NCR Qualifying Leg 1 held at the Rizal Memorial Swimming in Manila last April 13-14, 2019 have been added to the 2019 Philippine Swimming Rankings.

Most notable swimmers in the said meet that clocked times among the Top 5 in the country were Jexter Janzen Chua, Mervien Jules Mirandilla and Regina Maria Paz Castrillo.

National Capital Region’s DLSZ Junior Tankers (DLSZ) and Mindanao’s Holiday Gym Swim Clubs (HGSC) are top producers of Philippine junior national team members who will represent the country at the 43rd SEA Age Group Swimming Championships in Phnom Penh, Cambodia this June 28-30, 2019.

Both DLSZ and HGSC have five (5) swimmers (each) that have been named to the 2019 SEA AG national team this year.

Georgia Peregrina surpasses 2019 SEA Games qualifying time

Eighteen year-old Georgia Peregrina has surpassed the bronze medal qualifying time of the 30th Southeast Asian Games after clocking 2:18.19 in the 200m Backstroke event at the 2019 Hancock Prospecting Australian Swimming Championships in Adelaide, Australia, Wednesday afternoon.

With prelims time of 2:19.50, Peregrina clocked 2:18.19 in the afternoon finals to beat the 2:19.98 bronze medal time of the 29th edition of SEA Games.

Chua clinches 6th straight gold at close of PNAG swim meet

Asian All-Star Swim Club’s Xiandi Chua captured her sixth straight gold medal on Sunday to emerge as the outstanding swimmer in winding up the Philippine National Age Group Swimming Championships at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex Aquatic Center here.

Chua broke away in the last 30 meters in ruling the girls 16-18 girls 100-meter freestyle in 59.83 seconds, ahead of Rizal’s Aquatic Swim Club’s Camille Lauren Buico (1:02.35) and La Salle Zobel’s Raven Faith Alcoseba (1:03.37), who finished second and third, respectively, in the meet organized by the Philippine Swimming, Inc. led by president Lani Velasco.

There is no stopping Desirae Mangaoang as she set another Philippine Swimming National Record, this time breaking the Women’s 100m Breastroke seniors record at the 2019 Indianapolis Speedo Sectionals in Indianapolis, USA Saturday morning.

Xiandi Chua bags 3 golds, keeps perfect run in PNAG swim meet

All-Star Swim Club’s Xiandi Chua sustained her perfect run on Saturday, adding three more golds to her treasure trove in the Philippine National Age Group Swimming Championships at the Davao del Norte Sports and Tourism Complex Aquatic Center here.

Back to full-time training only last January, Chua stamped her class in the girls 16-18-year-old 200-meter freestyle, 100-meter breast stroke and 200-meter individual medley events, boosting her collection to five after opening-day wins in the 200-meter back stroke and 400-IM races.

Philippines’ budding swim superstar, Desirae Mangaoang, shattered the 15-year-old Philippine Swimming National Record of the Women’s 200m Breaststroke event at the 2019 Indianapolis Speedo Sectionals in Indianapolis, USA Thursday evening.

Seeded fifth going to the evening finals, Mangaoang stormed her way to a silver medal finish with a new Philippine national record time of 2:32.04, erasing Jaclyn Pangilinan’s 2:33.38 record, clocked at the 29th Olympic Games in Athens, Greece last August 2004.

Philippines’ backstroke king Jerard Dominin Jacinto wins another gold medal at the Liberty Insurance 50th Singapore National Age Group Swimming Championships at the OCBC Aquatic Center in Singapore, Friday night.
