Describe yourself :
I am very passionate; I can be quiet at first but once you get
to know me, I can be slightly sarcastic and funny. I love
quoting movies : )
What side or character of yours that would most likely
surprise others?
I am a “foodie”, I love to make and eat fun foods and desserts.
What age did you start swimming? What brought you to the
sport of swimming?
I started swimming around age 5. My mom brought me towards
swimming.
During your early years of swimming, have you ever thought
that you will reach where you are now today as a swimmer? Why?
I always hoped that one day I would swim at a competitive level
(such as where I am) but I never anticipated the work that came
with it.
What do you think are the factors that make you a successful
swimmer?
The main factor is simply that I love swimming. If you don’t
love the sport, how can you succeed at it? I also try and make
sure that every day counts, no matter what the set is.
What is your most memorable experience as a swimmer?
Recently I qualified for a big meet and the race that I
qualified in was my last chance to qualify. It was the last day
of the meet and I so desperately wanted to get my cut and I
did. This was an incredibly rewarding moment.
Apart from being a Summer Olympian, what is (are) your other
goal(s) as a swimmer?
A big goal for me is swimming at a Division 1 college.
Was there ever a time that you thought of quitting swimming?
Why?
In my early years of swimming, I was also playing soccer. At
the time, I loved soccer much more and because of that I
considered quitting swimming.
Who do you look up to as a swimmer? Why?
In terms of professional swimmers, I look up to Maya Dirado.
She is both academically and physically incredible and she
attended Stanford University after getting a perfect SAT score.
She also did amazing at the 2016 Olympics.
Any specific routines before and during the meet or before a
swim? What are these?
I do certain stretching exercises before races but nothing too
ritualistic.

like you.
