Describe yourself :
Shy, introverted, book-reader, hungry, adventurous, adaptable :)

What side or character of yours that would most likely surprise others?
In spite of being bashful, I can let anyone be my friend. I eat a lot. Just like every swimmer. I also like discovering new things. I like knowing how things work.

What age did you start swimming? What brought you to the sport of swimming?
I started when I was ten. Our family goes to province every summer to meet our titoís and titaís. We would go swimming then my mom saw that I liked to stay in the water longer than others, she entered me to swimming lessons.

During your early years of swimming, have you ever thought that you will reach where you are now today as a swimmer? Why?
When I started, all I wanted was just to have fun. I never thought of reaching this point. Actually, my coach had a hard time improving my skills. It was only then that I climbed up.

What do you think are the factors that make you a successful swimmer?
I like what Iím doing. Swimming has been an important part of my life. I have faith in God. I know He is there helping me in whatever I may do. I also have my family to support my swimming career.

What is your most memorable experience as a swimmer?
My most memorable moment as a swimmer was when I was in Grade 8. I had my first individual podium finish in UAAP. I held our university flag up to the podium proudly representing our school.

Apart from being a Summer Olympian, what is (are) your other goal(s) as a swimmer?
My goal is to break a world record. It may seem hard but it is a great achievement if accomplished.

Was there ever a time that you thought of quitting swimming? Why?
I have thought of quitting when it took so long for me to improve my performance. I started doubting myself for not improving, but I worked hard and eventually improved.

Who do you look up to as a swimmer? Why?
I look up to Kuya Johan Aguilar. He does great in swimming and at the same time graduated college with flying colors.

Any specific routines before and during the meet or before a swim? What are these?
Before I swim, I talk to God like some friend. I let Him do whatever He wants to do. Before a meet, I avoid eating sweets and fast food. I do less activities to preserve my strength.

Please share some words of wisdom for swimmers who wish to be like you.
Life gets hard when you think it that way. Just know that everything will get better soon. Not now, but real soon.

Message to your supporters :
Thank you for your support! Knowing that I have supporters makes me motivated. Iíll keep pushing harder for you all!
