Tokyo Olympic Games QTB swimmer, Luke Gebbie, won the Men’s 100m Freestyle silver medal at the Hancock Prospecting Australian Short Course Swimming Championships 2019 in Melbourne Thursday afternoon.
Swimming in lane 6, Gebbie clocked 48.84 seconds to finish behind Singapore’s Joseph Schooling with 48.05 and UWA West Coast’s Zac Incerti with 48.23
Schooling and Incerti were awarded with the gold medals, Gebbie with silver, and another UWA West Coast swimmer, Ashton Brinkworth with bronze with his 48.92 clocking.
Gebbie then team with fellow Melbourne Vincentre swimmers Jack Gerrard, Benino Negri and Mach Horton to take the gold of the Men’s 4x100m Freestyle relay event with a time of 3:16.15
SEA Games bound Gebbie is set to see action in the 50m Fly today, and 50m Free event on Saturday.
Fellow pinoy swimmer and also SEA Games bound, Thomas Peregrina, finished 11th in the Men’s 200m IM event with a time of 2:02.75.
He is set to see action in the 400m IM, 200m Fly and 100m IM events.
