PSI releases 2019 National Open Qualifying Time Standards

Philippine Swimming Incorporated has announced the qualifying time standards for the 1st Philippine National Open Swimming Championships 2019 which will run from August 31 – September 3, 2019 at Trace Aquatic Center in Laguna, Philippines.

Touted as the “BATTLE of CHAMPIONS”, the maiden edition of the National Open features the 18th FINA World Championships’ national team members James Deiparine, Luke Gebbie, Nicole Oliva and Remedy Rule; and local stand-outs Jasmine Alkhaldi, Jessie Lacuna, Roxanne Yu, Sacho Ilustre, Jerard Jacinto and Xiandi Chua.

Other swimmers expected to grace the first National Open are Jarod Hatch, Sam Alcos, Alberto Batungbacal, Jexter Chua, Red Silvestre, Miguel Barlisan, Jonathan Cook, Rafael Barreto, Rian Tirol, Joaquin Santos, Jayden Olson, Miguel Barreto, Chloe Isleta, Rosalee Santa Ana, Joy Rodgers, Chloe Daos, Miranda Renner, Raine Gavino, Erin Castrillo, Samantha Coronel, Camille Buico, and Thanya Dela Cruz.

New foreign based members, Joshua Umrysh and Matthew Fernandez, are also seeing action in Laguna.

Some big names will miss the Battle of Champions next month though.

Jean-Pierre Khouzam, Adrian Eichler and Desirae Mangaoang won’t be seeing action in Laguna since they will be in Budapest a week before the meet for the 7th FINA Junior World Championships; while the Peregrina siblings won’t be able to join due to school commitments.

The 2019 National Open will be the last qualifying meet for the 2019 Southeast Asian Games.

Below are the qualifying time standards :

The 1st Philippine National Open will have a prelims / finals competition set-up; and will have “A” and “B” Finals.

Meet entry fee is PHP 1,500.00 per swimmer.

Swimmers may enter as many events as they wish as long as their entry times are within the QET’s set by PSI.

An administrative fee of P1,500.00 per event will be imposed if a swimmer returns a slower time than the QET.

Deadline of submission of entries is August 15, 2019, while scratches will be allowed until August 17, 2019.

Deadline of late entries is August 21, 2019.

Only official coaches and/or team managers will be allowed to submit swimmers’ entries.

Please e-mail a copy of the deposit slip to philswim.acct@gmail.comas proof of payment. Please also bring a printout copy of the deposit slips during the meet.

ENTRIES SUBMITTED LATER THAN AUGUST 21, 2019 WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
