The International Olympic Committee’s Scholarship shall be opened to young athletes and regional games.
More young athletes shall be given the chance to fully develop their potentials as the International Olympic Committee opens its Olympic Solidarity Scholarship to athletes bound not only for the Olympics but also to Regional Games.
POC VP Joey Romasanta bared to Sports Radio the new IOC Solidarity Scholarship scheme after his meeting with officials in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The Scholarship will be given to athletes aged 15-18 years old, who shall be preparing for the Sea Games, Asian Games and other regional competitions.
This scheme means that the covered years of scholarship shall be extended from the original two years to four.
The IOC shall finalize the guidelines on a meeting in Jakarta this November before the formal announcement of the new OS scheme with the member countries.
